Adding therapy minutes will not fix your GG scores. Attendance will.

Adding therapy minutes will not fix your GG scores.

Every building I walk into that's unhappy with functional outcomes is looking at intensity. More minutes, a different therapy contract. Almost nobody is looking at attendance.

A resident scheduled for 90 minutes who completes 40 of them didn't get a low-intensity program. She got a program she wasn't in.

Pull one month of your own data. Sessions scheduled against sessions completed, by resident, not in aggregate. The building average will look fine. The distribution won't. A small group is missing most of their sessions, and those are the same residents dragging your GG change and your readmissions.

Then read the refusal reasons. In my experience it's mostly pain and fatigue, and pain is the one that's most fixable and least often revisited after admission.

Your therapists aren't underperforming. They're being measured on outcomes for residents who aren't in the gym.

Intensity is a therapy problem. Attendance is a medical one. Most buildings are spending on the first to fix the second.

If you've looked at completion rates by resident, what did the tail look like?
